Aaron decides to bring them together through his parent’s shared love of gardens and flowers but his grandfather, Virgil, stands in the way. MEDIUM SYNOPSIS: Upstate Grounds is the story of the Font family, the wealthiest family in a town located in Upstate NY during the 70’s. Aaron, who has always been given every wish
his heart desires, leads a seemingly content life with an undercurrent of deep fear and anger, fostered by his parents, Louise and James. Their relationship, strained as it is, is ever tested by Louise's authoritative and imposing father, Virgil, who has never really accepted James as a suitable husband to his beloved daughter. They all live in the majestic Font Manor, alongside their simple and loyal gardener, Marty and his pre-pubescent daughter, Sophia, who goes to school with Aaron and wishes she didn't have to work in Aaron's house. Aaron's world of entitled non-reality is shaken to its foundation when James and Louise decide to get separated.
Aaron devices a plan to bring his parents back together by playing to their mutual love for gardens and flowers and enlists Marty to teach him how to plant and grow a garden. Over a summer, Aaron's inner world will change by pushing his boundaries, learning the true value of work and embracing and loving others as he would himself.

DIRECTOR’S MISSION STATEMENT:
Emotivo Productions is my first production company created to develop film and video content designed to bring the values of humanity, honor and emotional entertainment to the world. I'm a Mexican film director and editor in love with the power
and influence that movies have on people.

DIRECTORS’S BIO:
At the age of 21, after finishing my 4th semester of Chemical Engineering in Monterrey, Mexico, I decided to quit college in order to pursue my filmmaking dream; I moved to New York City to study film directing at the New York Film Academy’s 1 year hands-on program and successfully completed the program by directing the horror short “Minos”. After graduating, I worked on the Weinstein Company film "Under the Same Moon" in Mexico as personal assistant to director Patricia Riggen and later worked in the locations department for the film "I am Legend" in NYC.

Since 2005, I have been involved with the Human Potential company, Executive Success Programs in their video department and have developed my skills as a camera operator, sound recordist, boom operator, producer and editor. I still work with them to this day.

In early 2010, I joined "The Everything Film Show” an extremely popular Internet radio film show that airs every Thursday night on iTunes.  Also in 2010, I collaborated with actor/dancer, William Sturtevant, directing and editing a short film, "Inspired", a comedy sketch called “The Chaplins” and a music video, "Take Me Away”.  I also fulfilled directing duties in Actor/Producer's Kevin Craig West's latest web series "Bottle Service", shot in the NY Capital Region.

In 2011, I directed, edited and shot an interview trailer for performance artist Ryder Cooley's one of a kind taxidermy show, “Xmalia” and finished work as editor/assistant editor of the Mexico non-violence documentary by director Mark Vicente titled "Encender el Corazón” with an early 2013 release date, the project I am the most proud of to date.

Currently, I'm directing and editing web videos for "A Little Indulgence", a First Communion services website, editing a trailer for a new and unique retelling of William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliette" by director Aleta Chappelle and am in the middle of pre-production for my first feature length film, “Upstate Grounds”.

“Films and movie theaters are sacred places to me. They are mediums into not only different worlds and experiences, but they offer an opportunity for us to connect with ourselves and move people towards action and reflection. I want to challenge, awe, inspire and provoke, but most importantly, I want to live a life of ethics and grow as much as I can in the time that I have on this planet”.
